Fontainebleau Collection

For designer and artist José Lévy, the Fontainebleau collection is a very personal project: he designed the outdoor furniture for his own country house near Fontainebleau. “I love the natural surroundings here, but I’m also very drawn to the vibrant city of Paris, just an hour’s drive away.” The Fontainebleau collection comprises six individual elements: a sofa, a chair, a stool, a round table, a daybed and a side table. All of them are considered as small architectural compositions responding to the different functions of a living room in a garden: resting, eating, working and playing; alone or with others. “I never impose a single strategy for using my creations. I like to see others interpret my work. I provide the letters for people to create their own words. Everyone is free to create their own universe with the furniture”. A world not strictly limited to sunny summer days. Both the material – steel – and the color – a deep green – allow the Fontainebleau collection to stay outside, even in winter. “I love the way these items blend in with nature”. The collection has been equipped with two different types of cushions to ensure optimum relaxation comfort: firm cushions for the seats and softer cushions to place around the backrest and armrests. “It’s like taking your own pillow out of bed and into your garden”.
